Orthopedics department

Service

The practice of orthopedics aims to identify and correct abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system: bones, joints, muscles and tendons. To achieve this, the AgoraVet clinic has :

  • A surgical team made up of orthopedic veterinarians, assistant surgeons and ASVs specially dedicated to this practice
  • An environment dedicated to the evaluation of orthopedic conditions: examination areas, X-ray room, scanner, high-field MRI, fluoroscopy.
  • State-of-the-art surgical equipment to treat all types of orthopaedic conditions: dysplasia, deformities, fractures, joint problems, etc.

How it works

  • Consultations are by appointment only. Emergencies are covered under certain conditions (contact 03 67 34 08 94).
  • It is recommended to keep the animal fasting in the event of anaesthesia.
  • In the event of intermittent lameness or pain, it is useful to show short videos made at home.
  • At the end of the consultation, tests may be recommended, including blood tests, X-rays, joint punctures, CT or MRI imaging.
  • When surgery is recommended, an exhaustive presentation is made, specifying the objectives, risks and possible after-effects.
  • An estimate is systematically provided for any examination or surgery.
  • Distraction screening x-rays for hip dysplasia
  • MRI of the knees in cases of suspected cruciate ligament rupture
  • Infiltration of PRP and hyaluronic acid
  • Treatment of fractures
  • Surgical treatment of patella dislocation
  • Shoulder, elbow and knee arthroscopy
  • Treatment of osteochondritis dissecans of the shoulder
For consultations :
  • Please present your pet's complete file and the accompanying letter from your veterinarian.
  • Your dog or cat must be fasting. No fasting is required for NACs.
  • Examining dogs for lameness may involve walking, trotting or running.
  • Dogs likely to react by biting or nipping (fear, pain ....) must be presented muzzled.
  • Depending on the stress or pain of certain animals, the consultation may be carried out under sedation.
  • A report is systematically sent to the attending veterinarian after the consultation, detailing observations and recommendations.
For surgery:

A surgical report is systematically sent to your veterinarian, who may be in charge of follow-up.

Present your pet at the agreed time. In case of difficulty, please inform our nursing staff.

Your dogs and cats must be fasting.

Most surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis. You will be informed of your pet's recovery time on admission.

An SMS notification is sent to you when your pet goes into recovery.
