How it works
Consultations
A pain consultation is offered at the clinic. Its aim is to assess the intensity of the pain, determine its main cause and, if necessary, treat it.
Personalized follow-up is provided using the tools offered by the Cap Douleur network.
In the case of surgery, pain is managed before, during and after the operation; the means of treating surgical pain are passed on to the owners when they return home.
Care and maintenance
Consultations are by appointment only, Monday to Friday.
A pain assessment is carried out at the first consultation, leading to a pain score.
The nature of the pain is studied, and any necessary tests are prescribed to determine its precise origin. Multimodal treatment is then prescribed.
Pain scores are taken at the bedside of hospitalized patients and treatments are adapted according to the results.

When should you consult an algologist?
- Ambulatory pain in old dogs and cats
- Pain of neurological origin, such as herniated discs or vertebral instability
- Accident-related pain or the after-effects of an accident
- Acute abdominal pain
