Hospitalizing my dog, cat or NAC at AgoraVet
Your pet's state of health or the operation it is about to undergo requires hospitalization.
Rest assured that we will do everything possible to ensure his comfort, reassure him and provide him with the care he needs, day and night if necessary.
To help your pet keep in touch with you, you can place a blanket or a favorite object to remind him of a familiar environment.
During your pet's stay at the clinic, a member of our team responsible for caring for hospitalized animals will call you to provide you with news about your companion. To make our job easier, please wait for our call.
How are animals hospitalized at the AgoraVet veterinary clinic?
The AgoraVet center has 7 different hospitalization areas to avoid mixing species and ensure comfort that meets their specific needs.
We have :
- A kennel: your dogs are hospitalized in areas adapted to their size. If their condition allows it, they are taken outside regularly under supervision, in an enclosed, secure area, to relieve themselves and stretch their legs.

- A cattery: the areas dedicated to cats have been specifically designed for their particular sensitivities. The cattery is located away from busy areas to guarantee calm and rest.
- A hospitalization area for NACs. The hospitalization facilities are adapted to the needs of each species. Small mammals, birds and reptiles have their own separate living areas.
- A hospitalization area for potentially contagious animals: animals suspected of having diseases that are contagious to other conspecifics are separated from other animals for obvious reasons of risk of disease transmission.
- Intensive care area: Cats and dogs are kept separate in this dedicated intensive care area. Special equipment is available: oxygen cages, heating systems, infusion pumps for our most critical animals.
- A hospitalization area for animals undergoing chemotherapy.
CAN I VISIT MY HOSPITALIZED PET?
During long hospital stays, visits are recommended. They provide support for the sick pet and an opportunity to discuss the situation with the care teams.
Visits are possible from Monday to Friday by appointment, depending on the availability of the nursing staff and the condition of the sick animal.
CAN I CHECK ON MY HOSPITALIZED PET?
You receive daily updates on the state of your pet's health, the results of any examinations carried out, details of any follow-up care and updates on the financial aspects of hospitalization.
CAN I BRING MY PET'S USUAL HOSPITAL FOOD?
Yes, it's even recommended, especially for animals on special diets. This avoids any change in habits, and ensures that the food meets the needs of the species.
We do, however, provide sick animals with the best convalescent food and ensure that their daily needs are met.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HOSPITALIZE MY PET?
An estimate of the cost of hospitalization is made when your pet is admitted. However, it is sometimes difficult to predict how your pet's health will evolve during hospitalization. Your pet is examined several times a day and, depending on its condition, tests may be prescribed or treatment plans modified, which can have an impact on budgets.
Except in cases of extreme urgency, all examinations and treatments are discussed with you beforehand and are subject to your agreement. If you wish, a financial review can be carried out on a daily basis.
