Dermatology Department
Service
Our pets suffer from many skin diseases. The AgoraVet referred veterinary clinic offers a consultation service for all those cases that are resistant to the usual treatments. In the event of difficulty, your veterinarian can refer you to us.
The scope of veterinary dermatology is vast, involving parasitology, infectiology, immunology, allergology, oncology, endocrinology and many other fields of medicine.
Why choose AgoraVet?
- We take care of animals suffering from skin diseases, carrying out the necessary tests and providing the appropriate care.
- Depending on the need for more comprehensive care, the dermatology department works closely with other departments such as surgery, CT or MRI imaging and internal medicine.
- We are also able to offer innovative treatments such as laser biostimulation or dynamic photostimulation lasers, which open up new prospects for curing serious diseases.
How it works
Consultations
Consultations allow you to :
- know your pet's medical history. Please bring a complete medical file with all test results.
- learn about the onset of skin disease, the signs observed at home, the evolution of the disease, and the results of any treatments already carried out
- Carry out a detailed clinical examination and check that the animal is not suffering from a more general illness.
- Establish and implement complementary examinations if necessary.
- Establish the most appropriate treatment for a diagnosis and recommend follow-up, particularly in the case of chronic illnesses
Care and maintenance
You have been referred by your veterinarian to the Clinique Vétérinaire AgoraVet in Strasbourg for a specialized dermatology consultation. Consultations are by appointment only.
It is imperative that you assemble all the documents for your visit and follow the advice below:
- Letter of recommendation from your vet.
- Your pet's complete medical file
- Details of any anti-parasite treatments you regularly administer (type of products, dates of use, etc.)
- Avoid all local treatments for several days before the consultation (shampoo, disinfectants, ear treatments, etc.).
- Unless specifically contraindicated, antihistamine-based treatments should be stopped a week before the consultation. Local and oral corticosteroids should be taken 15 days beforehand, and in the case of delayed forms, one month beforehand.
- Present your animal on an empty stomach for additional imaging examinations (scanner, MRI).
A report is systematically forwarded to the attending veterinarian for follow-up.
