How it works
Consultations
They are essential for the proper preparation of the overall care project. They make it possible to :
- Confirm that surgery remains the best option for treating the animal.
- Define any additional tests to be performed prior to surgery
- Explain the nature and progress of the intervention
- Explain the risks associated with the procedure (anesthesia, possible complications, possible after-effects)
- Explain the nature of post-operative care and establish a follow-up schedule
- Defining a prognosis
- Establish a global estimate of care costs
Care and maintenance
Coverage is provided only at the request request of the attending veterinarian.
Most surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis: the animal is operated on in the morning and returned in the evening.
In the event of hospitalization, the details will be explained to you when your pet is admitted.
It is often necessary to fast before an operation. It is important to follow the recommendations given during the consultation.
A care contract is systematically drawn up by reception staff. It specifies the nature of the care and the risks involved, and provides an estimate of the cost of services.
News is sent at the end of the intervention (SMS, phone call, e-mail ....).
Post-operative care instructions and the follow-up plan are reiterated at the animal's discharge consultation.
A report is systematically forwarded to the attending veterinarian for follow-up.
When should you consult a surgeon?
