Oncology Department
Service
The oncology department is dedicated to the care of animals affected by cancer. Our specialized veterinary team focuses on the study, diagnosis and appropriate care of cancer in all its forms.
Why choose AgoraVet?
- A medical department dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of many types of cancer
- Premises adapted to chemotherapy treatments to ensure the safety and comfort of treated animals
- Priority given to the well-being of animals suffering from cancer, with a focus on pain treatment
- Working in collaboration with other departments to optimize the care of sick animals: surgery and medical imaging
- Collaboration with French facilities for more extensive treatments, particularly radiotherapy
- Collaborative work with leading French specialists in the field.
How it works
Consultations
- allow us to collect the animal's medical history and determine how the cancer developed
- establish the state of health of the animal to be treated for cancer
- Carry out all necessary examinations and assessments, such as extension assessments, to measure the appropriateness of care.
- implement appropriate treatments: oncological surgery, chemotherapy, electrochemotherapy, radiotherapy,
- implement appropriate palliative treatments when cure is not possible.
Care and maintenance
Coverage is only provided at the request of the attending veterinarian.
Consultations by appointment Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
We recommend that you leave your pet fasting before any consultation.
A care contract is systematically drawn up by reception staff. It specifies the nature of the care required and provides an estimate of the cost of the service. As the care of hospitalized animals depends on their condition, the costs inherent in their care are updated daily.
In the event of hospitalization, news is sent daily, and in the event of long-term hospitalization, visits can be arranged.
A report is systematically forwarded to the attending veterinarian for follow-up.
When should you consult an oncologist?
- When a lump, ball or deformity appears on your pet
- for cancer treatment: conventional or metronomic chemotherapy (at home)
- For first-line surgical treatment of a tumor
- To carry out an extension assessment and identify the presence of metastases
- For palliative supportive care.
