Blood donation
Your pet can save lives!
At AgoraVet, we’ve opened the region’s first veterinary blood bank, to enable fast, safe transfusions available 24/7, even in emergencies.
For this, we need regular donors: healthy dogs and cats who can help other animals survive illness, surgery or accident.
✅ Why give?
Each donation helps to save one or more patients in critical need.
Blood bags from our bank are used only at the clinic, to guarantee rapid treatment, particularly at night, on weekends and public holidays.
🩸 Patients referred to AgoraVet can benefit from the blood bank.
WHO CAN DONATE?
Dogs :
- Ages 1 to 8
- Minimum weight: 25 kg
- Up-to-date vaccinations and parasite treatments
- In good health
- Calm and sociable (light sedation may be considered if necessary)
Cats :
- Ages 1 to 7
- Minimum weight: 4 kg
- Up-to-date vaccinations and parasite treatments
- In good health
👉 Light sedation required for sampling
🩺 How does it work?
At the first visit:
– We create a file for your pet
– We carry out a blood grouping test
→ The donation will not necessarily take place on the same day: it depends on your pet’s blood group. Your pet will be placed on our list of regular or emergency donors, and we will contact you if necessary.
🎁 A pack of kibble from our partner Proplan is offered with every donation, as a thank-you.
