🐾 An interdisciplinary collaboration at Jacky’s service 🐶

In early 2023, Jacky, a 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, was referred to our ophthalmology department for treatment of a bilateral cataract 👀.

During the examination, a lump on his head caught our attention. To determine its origin, an MRI was carried out, unfortunately revealing the presence of cancer in the frontal bone.

Thanks to the excellent collaboration between our various departments – ophthalmology, imaging and surgery – we were able to provide rapid care.

Given the urgency of the situation, surgery was scheduled. A CT scan was used to design 3D models and manufacture a custom prosthesis perfectly adapted to Jacky’s needs.🤩

This case illustrates the importance of complementarity between our specialties to offer our patients the best possible care.

The surgery was a success: the prosthesis was fitted and Jacky is now enjoying happy days alongside his adorable owners.
