Yes, it’s possible!
Here’s a case of a giant posterior capsule wound(bottom left photo) identified during phacoemulsification. Such a wound usually makes implantation impossible.
The idea here is to partially suture the implant in order to stabilize the portion that has no capsular support. The technique is inspired by that used by G. Lewin for intracapsular lens extraction. In this way, it is possible to restore emetropia where this seemed impossible.
The top image shows the implant in place 2 weeks after surgery.
